The Different Types of Lightsabers

The lightsaber is a powerful weapon used by the Jedi. This elegant weapon can cut enemies, blast doors, and deflect and reflect incoming blaster bolts. A lightsaber can predict and avoid incoming blaster bolts if used correctly. It is a perfect weapon for Jedi, who can predict incoming attacks from the opposition.

Purple

lightsaberThe purple lightsaber is unique among the lightsabers used by the Jedi Order. Its name owes much to its colour, which is associated with the Dark Side of the Force. Three known Jedi wield purple lightsabers: Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, and Luke Skywalker. The three Jedi all wield different versions of the purple lightsaber.

The most famous purple lightsaber was used by the Jedi Master Mace Windu, who was one of the most powerful Jedi outside of Yoda. He was also adept at the Form VII combat method, which allows the Jedi to use their inner darkness to battle for the light side. This technique was so powerful that he had visions of future battles with a purple lightsaber and attempted to build it himself. However, he failed because he did not have the necessary materials.

Green

Jedi who wield green lightsabers have a unique and profound understanding of the Force. These Jedi are usually of the highest ranking and are known for their harmony and balance in the universe. Their skills focus more on the mind and spirit than physical strength. As such, they are considered to be some of the most powerful Jedi in history.

A green lightsaber is often associated with the Jedi and Luke Skywalker, but the use of one is not limited to the Jedi. Many Star Wars characters use green lightsabers, including Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda. Green lightsabers are also used by the character Ahsoka Tano.

Red

The colour red represents intense emotions. It can represent passion, anger, danger, and even love. In Star Wars, Sith wielders often embrace these intense emotions, tempting them to the dark side of the Force. The colours of lightsabers also reflect the wielder’s personality and traits.

The red lightsaber is made of a synthetic material called a synth-crystal. This material is similar to the naturally formed crystals on the Jedi planet. However, while all red lightsaber crystals are red, some are lighter or darker than others, depending on their characteristics.

White

The white lightsaber is a symbol of neutrality and positivity in the Force. It is also associated with purity and cleanliness. A white lightsaber can signify a new beginning. It is important to remember that the white lightsaber is not a single colour but a spectrum of shades.

White lightsabers are rare and are not commonly found among force users. The only known user of a white lightsaber is Ahsoka Tano. However, a white lightsaber can be made by Garen Malek, a character from the Star Wars video game The Force Unleashed.

Clear

Clear lightsabers are a unique and rare colour in Star Wars Legends. They are one of the most deadly and stealthy lightsabers. However, no known Star Wars character has a lightsaber that is made from this material. It is important to note that we may earn money if you purchase items using the links provided on this page.

A similar crystal was found on the planet of Barab. This crystal was irradiated, which made it produce a precise blade. This crystal was extremely powerful and could damage people with ease. Upon impact, people struck by it would catch fire instantly.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a strong material for lightsabers. They are often made of clear or frosted polycarbonate. Many polycarbonate lightsabers also have a blade diffusion film or a mirrored tip to help diffuse light. These polycarbonate lightsabers are as durable as other lightsabers but can also be heavy.

A polycarbonate lightsaber’s blade is typically made of a polymer tube approximately 32 to 40 inches long. The blade length includes an extra inch to accommodate the hilt and stabilise the weapon. The blade is also made to mimic the design of the newer model lightsabers that have a cross guard.
